Frequently Asked
Questions
Q: How do I schedule an initial session?

A: Please feel free to call, email, or send a message to contact us. Christle will help to complete the initial intake process and get you scheduled!

Q: How do I choose the right therapist?

While choosing the right therapist for you, try the following...
1) See if they specialize in the areas that you're having challenges in (visit OUR TEAM page for more details)
2) Upon meeting with the therapist you've chosen, you want to make sure that it's a good fit. Some things to look for include:

-
Do they create a secure place for you to feel heard and understood?
-
Are they competent and knowledgeable about their work and how it works?
-
Have they challenged you? An effective therapist provides support and understanding, while also offering active interventions that encourage growth. There's a skilled balance in being able to offer genuine care while also providing alternative healthier ways of approaching life and different perspectives. Typically, we need to experience a little discomfort, in order for healthier behaviors to start feeling comfortable.

Q: What is therapy like?

A: Each therapy session is individualized to meet your specific needs. You can expect to discuss your current challenges, explore past events that may be affecting you, and process any gained insight from previous sessions. Depending on what you're needing, therapy may be short-term while processing one particular problem, or longer-term to address difficult patterns or on-going personal development. For either option, it's beneficial to see your therapist on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
Therapy is an amazing opportunity to heal and grow, but ultimately, it's what you're willing to make of it. The more you participate and engage, the more you'll get out of the experience. We are here to help provide a secure place to gain insight and guidance, while also teaching you the tools needed to make healthy changes. You will be in control of your therapeutic process and growth.
Q: How long is the duration of a session?

A: Each telehealth session typically is 53-60minutes in length.
Q: Do you take insurance, and how does that work?

A: During the intake process, we will collect your medical insurance information. Should you have any questions on what your copay may be, please contact your Medical Insurance Customer Support (contact information typically found on your medical insurance card).

Q: Are our conversations confidential?

A: Yes, absolutely. All of our providers uphold a strict confidentiality policy. Prior to your first session, you'll electronically sign a Confidential Disclosure Agreement, which ensures what you discuss in session will be confidential.
However, state law and professional ethics require therapists to report the following situations:
-
Suspected past or present abuse or neglect of children, adults, and elders to the authorities, including Child Protection and law enforcement, based on information provided by the client or collateral sources.
-
If the therapist has reason to suspect the client is seriously in danger of harming him/herself or has threatened to harm another person.
